Ghost Tours in Central Texas

A great way to see a city and also hear some facts or stories about the city is by going on a ghost tour! I have taken ghost tours across the United States and always learn so much. I sometimes forget that I can do tours in my own city, though. I decided to go on some ghost tours in my area to share my experience with you! Here are three ghost tours to take in central Texas:

This tour starts off at the Texas Capitol Building and takes you through parts of downtown Austin. The tour costs $30 per person, starts at 8pm, and took us about a little over an hour. Our guide also offered some historical facts throughout the tour and answered questions that we had along the way. This tour is great for people of all ages and stops at some famous and historical spots in the city. The Ghosts of Austin Tour is offered most days, with weekends being busier. Plus, the tour is dog friendly!

Starting off from the Omni Hotel in downtown, this tour costs $26 per person, also starts at 8pm, covers about one mile, and takes about an hour as well. This tour included a few different sections of downtown Austin, stopping at some famous sites like Paramount Theatre, Buffalo Billiards, and The Driskill Hotel! Once again, this tour is dog friendly. Some of the stories are pretty gory, so keep that in mind if you are joining with children. Very similar to the tour previously mentioned, Hauntings, Apparitions, & Ashes of Austin Ghost Tour is busier on the weekends. This is something to keep in mind if you are looking for a small group tour.

With this tour, you can also add on a $7 extended tour upgrade for an extra 30 minutes of spooky stories! You can also add an EMF Activity Detector to your tour for $7 to see if there's any paranormal activity around.

Haunted Fredericksburg Ghost Walk starts off near the Nimitz Museum and walks all down Main Street! The tour costs $22 per person, starts at 8:30pm, involves about a mile of walking, and lasts about an hour. Guides are dressed in 1800's attire for easy spotting when finding the starting spot and to set the atmosphere. If you're looking for a little bit more history and spookiness, you can add on the jail tour! Something really neat about this tour is it's BYOB! You can bring wine or beer in a cup and sip while you hear spooky stories since it is legal to have open containers while walking in Fredericksburg.

If you're looking for a fun activity in central Texas that gives you chills and a little thrill, definitely check out Haunted Fredericksburg Ghost Walk, US Ghost Tours, and Ghost City Adventures. You don't have to wait until Halloween to enjoy spooktacular fun! These ghost tours deliver chills, laughs, and maybe even a ghost selfie—if you’re lucky. Go on, sign up for one… what’s the worst that could happen?
